Retrosynthesis tool will gain computational muscle and integrate with Sigma–Aldrich catalogue
German chemistry giant Merck KGaA has acquired computer-aided retrosynthesis tool Chematica in a big step towards giving the much-heralded system real-world impact.
Merck will integrate Chematica’s synthesis planning with supplies from subsidiary Sigma–Aldrich, and could eventually host the computationally-demanding system on cloud-based servers to enable wider access.
