Committee on Climate Change backs low carbon target for 2050

The UK should vigorously pursue the ambitious target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This is the conclusion of a report from the Committee on Climate Change. It concluded that this target was necessary, feasible and cost-effective.
